Meet the Dentist

Ashly Cothern, DDS

Dr. Ashly Cothern fell in love with general dentistry from an early age and worked with her family dentist through high school and college. During Dr. Cothern’s fourth year of dental school, she took the initiative to reach out to a local dentist to ask if he needed an associate. After they got to know each other, the dentist said he was ready to retire and wanted Dr. Cothern to buy the practice from him. So she did! That was over 20 years ago. Since then, she has grown the practice substantially from two operatories to seven.

Dr. Cothern thanks God for the amazing team members and patients that have come alongside her throughout the journey. She values the long-term connections and strong relationships with patients that running a smaller boutique practice allows. Patients value seeing familiar faces every time they visit, too, as it eases any dental-related anxieties they have.

Dr. Cothern has been married to her husband Mike for more than 22 years, and they have four children and a 5-year-old black Labrador. Outside of the dental office, she enjoys exercising, keeping up with her kiddos and their activities, and reading.

Meet the Team

Kimberly

Registered Dental Hygienist
Kimberly (aka Gigi) has worked at the practice since 2008. She was raised in Mesquite and graduated from North Mesquite. She then completed her degree in dental hygiene at Collin College. Outside of work, Kimberly is very involved with her family as well as her friends from her church community group. She has been married to her husband, Vince, for 34 years, and they have three adult children and four precious grandchildren. She enjoys walking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Christy

Registered Dental Hygienist
Christy has been a dental hygienist since 2001 after helping patients as a dental assistant beginning in 1994. She completed her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene at Texas Woman’s University. Christy has been married to her husband, Glenn, for 25 years, and she has two adult children. Outside of work, she loves watching football and spending time with her nieces’ and nephews’ little ones.

Allison

Registered Dental Hygienist
Allison has been a registered dental hygienist for more than 20 years. She finds her role rewarding and enjoys helping her patients maintain their oral health. Allison has been married to Chuck for 24 years, and they have two amazing daughters. As a family, they love heading out to their lake house, enjoying college football games, and spending time in Maui. Allison also likes to shop, figure skate, and ski.

Holly

Registered Dental Assistant
Holly grew up in Dallas and completed her certification for dental assisting in Rockwall. One of her favorite things about working in dentistry is helping patients to achieve their dream smiles and educating them about how to keep their mouths healthy. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Doug, and their new baby, Bodhi. On weekends, Holly loves crafting in her studio, gardening, and playing with her dogs.

Laurie

Registered Dental Assistant
Laurie graduated as a registered dental assistant in 1993. She has worked as a chairside dental assistant in every aspect of general and cosmetic dentistry. Laurie also fills in at the front desk when needed. Her favorite part of working in dentistry over the last 30 years has been the great people she has met, and she loves helping them love their smiles. Outside of work, Laurie loves reading, watching movies, dancing, and listening to live country music.

Melissa

Office Manager
Melissa started working in the dental field as a dental assistant back in 1998. She has worked in dentistry ever since and is now our office manager. The office would fall apart without her ability to organize and execute projects! She’s known for keeping things running smoothly. Melissa is a mother of two kids, and she loves spending time with them and her dogs. She also enjoys designing and sewing children’s clothes and accessories.

Robin

Hygiene Coordinator
Robin has been in the dental field for more than 20 years. She was an oral surgery assistant for 15 years and has also worked in dental sales and marketing. Robin coordinates the dental hygiene schedule and supports our dental hygienists. She is a mom to two amazing sons. One is in college in California playing football, and the other is almost 9 and loves playing baseball. Outside of work, Robin enjoys working out and playing guitar.
